When copying files, Android does not keep the original creation date. This is particularly problematic with photos and videos as it disrupts the gallery organization.

Fortunately, an app can automatically recover the creation date, restoring proper gallery display order.

The free version allows processing 50 images or videos to evaluate if the app meets requirements. Images can be selected individually or by folder for targeted corrections.

The app supports the new PXL file format found on Pixel devices running Android 11.

Not all Android versions offer the same capabilities. However, leveraging an external library enables media correction for various formats.

For an unlimited fix capacity, a small fee unlocks the full version.

Important notes:

Before Android 5 (Lollipop): The app rectifies MediaStore database for proper gallery display without altering file dates or EXIF data.
Android 5 (Lollipop) to 7 (Nougat): Supports media repair without changing file dates. Option exists to save date in EXIF data for specific formats with increased processing time.
Android 8 (Oreo) and 9 (Pie): Date modification for files is now feasible with menu activation.
Android 10: MediaStore is read-only, requiring writing EXIF data for supported formats. Video processing limitations are overcome through integration of ExifTool library.
